The Pacheedaht First Nation (“PFN”) have an existing oceanfront campground in Port Renfrew, BC and are expanding this campground. The expansion project is described in Appendix 2 and includes: Clearing existing vegetation and driftwood in some locations for the road and camp sites Constructing a campground road to join into the existing road. The new loop road is intended to be a two-way circuit however in some cases where the road travels between two closely located main trees, the road may be
restricted to one car width for those sections. Subsurface to the proposed new campsite loop road will be the potential for both the water and hydro service extensions, see Servicing documents by JE Anderson Civil. Clearing and preparing new individual camp spaces with level sand pads. It is essential to maintain the health of the main forest trees and thus all efforts should be made to avoid cutting or disturbing main tree roots and
the use of good fill material will be preferred to raise and grade the loop road in these locations. The campsites currently labelled from A to U are to be constructed in the locations noted and with the intent to make them as
large as possible between the existing large trees on site. Some smaller trees can be removed in the effort of leveling the sites for recreational vehicle maneuvering and parking. Some sites such as G, J, K, M, O, and R may be relatively small but are intended to serve small RV or tenting sites. Larger campsites particularly along the waterfront edge, A to F will require some work to remove or
relocate existing driftwood that has piled up over the years and where possible, enlarging these sites for more than 1 RV is welcomed in the interest of creating group camping sites similar to existing campsite 42. Campground signage – numbers for each campsite as directed by the campsite operator to match style of existing campground Two shower/washroom buildings and coordination with the septic system provider Concrete pads, garbage and recycling bins Supply and install two (2) road access gates Supply and install three (3) new pit toilet with concrete tank and weather resistant plastic enclosure at locations to be determined with the campground operator – shower/washroom buildings replace two existing
pit toilets – remove existing structures and restore the landscape at these locations Clearing existing vegetation for small parking area Constructing small parking area New trails or re-located trails for beach access Fencing around the recently constructed trailhead parking lot Building permit fees Fire pit enclosures at each campsite Picnic table at each campsite Water service as shown on the drawings in Appendix 2 plus all mechanical work to the two shower/washroom buildings Trenching, supply & install shared water to sites 31, 42-48 Coordination with electrical services contractor (Brownsey Electrical)
