City is going to rehabilitate the 750,000 gallon spheroid water storage tank. This will include exterior overcoat, wet interior repaint, dry interior repaint, and miscellaneous repairs. The structure is a 750,000 gallon spheroid with a low-water level of 81 ft. located at 3572 County Rd. 427 in Auburn, Indiana The work includes: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi), spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard and apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard and apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Dry Interior: Abrasive blast clean the entire dry interior to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard. Apply a three (3) coat epoxy system to the access tube and bowl and a two (2) coat epoxy system to the rest of the prepared surfaces. Pit Piping: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP6 commercial standard and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Foundation: Repair grout. Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Mixer: Install a mechanical mixer. Repairs: 1) Replace the access tube manway gasket. 2) Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch. 3) Install handholds at the roof hatches. 4) Replace the expansion joint. 5) Overflow discharge modification. 6) Install a mud valve. 7) Replace vent with a frost-free roof vent. 8) Install alignment lugs and a seal at the access tube air gap. 9) Install cathodic clips and coupling. 10) Install a roof handrail with a painter's railing. 11) Replace dry interior and aviation light bulbs. Auburn desires to have all work completed by May 30, 2022 following ("award of contract with" or "contracted start date by a") qualified contractor.
