Centennial College at 941 Progress Avenue does not have of a current generator that is required to supply backup power for the Information and Communication Engineering Technology Department's (ICET) Servers. In the event of any power outage, a damage of the IT equipment in those servers may occur. Some servers have rack mounted UPS units. Computer Room Services Corporation (CRSC) is managing the maintenance of the (ICET) server rooms. Servers are located and distributed within Blocks A and B of the Progress Campus. TIMELINE: The Consultant, as the prime consultant determined the generator load calculations, capacity and select any additional equipment or components that might be required. The prime consultant has completed schematic designs for the backup power distribution system, corresponding specifications documents and determine the adequate location of the generator ensuring proper ventilation. Detailed designs will proceed in 2024 pending funding approvals. Further schedules for tender and construction are anticipated in 2024/2025. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. *A contact at the owner is not released for publication.
