An active gas station in Shilo, Manitoba (the site) requires action to address petroleum hydrocarbon (PHC) impacts to soil and groundwater. As municipal water connections are not available in Shilo, there is a potential risk to human health. Remedial work at the site is expected to be initiated in winter 2021/22 and completed by spring 2027. The proposed approach must include deliverables that provide verification that the remedial activities have been effective and that the impact to human health has been mitigated. The approach must also consider minimizing disruption to site operations, and overall be cost effective.
