Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and renovation of a mixed-use development in Simi Valley, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a library; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

This is an In-Use project. The Consultant will make provisions in the documents to allow for existing facilities to remain in use to the public during construction including, without limitation, phasing plans. The Consultant must provide professional architectural and consulting services for the City’s proposed renovation and upgrade to the Simi Valley Public Library. The Consultant is responsible for examining the existing building site and appurtenances to establish existing conditions. Inasmuch as the City had previously prepared concepts for revisions to the existing building, City is especially relying on Consultant’s experience in designing the project. It is also the intent of the Contract to provide, without limitation, the necessary design, drawings, calculations, specifications, and documents necessary to obtain approvals of all agencies having jurisdiction over the project and for the bidding and construction of the improvements and facilities. Also, Consultant will provide project management services throughout construction phase. The Consultant’s services will include, without limitation, all services performed by the Consultant, Consultant’s employees and any consultants under direction of the Consultant. They include, without limitation, all responsibilities outlined in the Scope of Work and typically required for design and construction of a renovation project of this nature. The Consultant may retain the services of all necessary consultants including, without limitation, mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, structural, civil. City may accept or reject consultants proposed by the Consultant. The Consultant will prepare plans and specifications for all work including, without limitation, utilities, utility relocation, utility and system extensions, phone, data, security, fire sprinkler and alarm systems, structural improvements, electrical, mechanical, acoustical, security, public walkways, interior and exterior lighting, and “In Use” guidelines plan. Fire sprinklers may be a deferred approval submittal that will be prepared by the fire sprinkler contractor. The work of the Consultant is separated into three phases, which are identified below. The Consultant is responsible for providing a detailed schedule for completion of each phase, which must be updated monthly When deemed necessary by the City, bid bonds must be furnished by all proposers in the amount of at least 10% of the bid to guarantee that proposers will enter into contract to furnish goods at prices stated. Likewise, a Performance Bond must be required of the successful proposer when stated in the specification (cash deposit, certified or cashier's check or money order may be substituted in lieu of either bond).
