Wheeling St, Aurora CO 80045. 2.0 - STATEMENT OF WORK SCOPE ITEM 1: Seventeen (17) patient bathrooms in Buildings H & K are experiencing ponding in inappropriate locations in the showers, creating a safety and sanitary hazard. VA Architectural Design Manual section 4.30.2 entitled 'Shower Floors' specifies a maximum slope for shower floors not to exceed 5 percent (3/5" per foot.) However, the as-built drawings for the facility (attached drawing XX.AI.771_CD12) indicate an existing slope of a maximum 1/4" per foot. This is well under the maximum slope noted in the Architectural Design Manual and VA FMS believes the slope can be increased to improve flow to the drains. The intent of this scope item is to increase the taper to the floor drain inside and around these shower areas to mitigate ponding, within the 5 percent (3/5" per foot) maximum specified in the Architectural Design Manual.
