The major items of Work include approximately 19,170 L.F. of 6 & 8inch C900 PVC water line; 9,160 l.f. 1 & 2 inch HDPE service line; to be bored and/or open cut to replace existing CIP water. Also includes approximately 27 fire hydrants; 97 - 2, 4, 6, and 8 inch gate valves, 170 service connections; 130 AMR meters (to match existing) with meter pits; abandonments, site/surfacing restoration, erosion and traffic control, and all other work and appurtenances for a complete and operating as intended system. Alternates include similar water line work to try and match construction cost to available budget. If not selected, will reduce the project quantities. Bid Security of 5% will be required in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidder qualifications may be required in accordance with Instructions to Bidders Owner reserves the right to reject Bids and to waive irregularities. This project is funded by USDA Rural Development (USDA RD) and the Kansas Department of Commerce (KDOC) Small Cities Program. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the presidents Executive Order 11246 (Equal Employment Opportunity) as amended. American Iron and Steel Act All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis, Minor Components, Pig iron and direct reduced iron.
