The major items of WORK include: The PROJECT will replace existing cast iron watermains. The approximate quantities and major components include: approximately 27,500 lf of 2, 4, 6 and 8-inch C900 PVC waterlines utilizing a combination of HDD and open trench methods; 365 lf of 10 and 12-inch cased bore; 9,230 If of 1" and 2" HDPE service lines; 223 service connections, new meter pits, 220 new AMR meters (5/8" & 2") to interface with the existing radio read and billing system; 82 gate valves; 41 fire hydrants, 1 bulk water station; all fittings, connections, abandonments, surface restorations, seeding, erosion and traffic control, coordination with local utility companies and all other items for a complete and operating as intended system. Bid Security of 5% will be required in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bidder qualifications may be required in accordance with Instructions to Bidders. Owner reserves the right to reject Bids and to waive irregularities. Project Funding: This project is funded by USDA Rural Development (USDA RD) and the Kansas Public Water Supply Loan Fund (KPWSLF) Compliance with the following: Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the presidents Executive Order No. 11246 (Equal Employment Opportunity) as amended.
