The work shall include but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, services, and performing all work necessary and incidental to the construction of a new fiber optic network system which includes: a total of approximately 77,000 linear feet of new 288-count fiber in two new 2-inch diameter butt-fused HDPE conduits via Horizontal Directional Drilling and open trench installation (or in existing conduits); approximately 102 communication manholes, 28 splice boxes, 102 manhole markers; pavement removals and replacements; and site restoration. Contractor to provide all necessary work plans, permits, and inspections necessary for complete turnkey installation, all as shown on the plans and/or as specified herein. Each bidder must submit bid security in one of the following forms: cash, cashier's check payable to City, a certified check payable to City, or a bid bond in the form included with the bid documents, executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to City in an amount equal to at least 5% of the total amount of the bid or proposal. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, as well as a faithful performance bond, in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. The bonds shall be on the forms included in the Contract Documents. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of the Business and Professions Code to do the type of work contemplated in the project. In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A (General Engineering) License at the time that the bid is submitted. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid non-responsive. City reserves the right to reject any or all bids; to make any awards or any rejections in what it alone considers to be in the best interest of City, and waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids.
