The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension project ("ECWE") is a part of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area ("GTHA") region's Frequent Rapid Transit Network ("FRTN"). The proposed full extent of the corridor extends along Eglinton Avenue West from the western end of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT at Mount Dennis, then north to Toronto Pearson International Airport at Renforth Station. This corridor serves the growing bidirectional travel demand across the region's urban growth centers and employment hubs of midtown Toronto, downtown Mississauga and the Pearson Airport Area. The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will be delivered by way of an advance Project Contract (the "Advance Project Contract") which is currently under construction and scheduled for completion in June 2026. A second advanced tunnel (Jane to Mt. Dennis) is to be procured (the "Advance Tunnel (Jane to Mt. Dennis) Contract", or the "Project") for the underground portion of the alignment between Jane Street and Mt. Dennis east of Weston Rd. This will be followed by subsequent contracts to construct the elevated guideway (referred to as the Elevated Guideway "EG") (the "EG contract") and to construct the stations and ancillary facilities, fit-out the tunnels, elevated guideway and stations, and install and commission the systems (referred to as the "Stations, Rail and Systems") (the "SRS Contract"). The Sponsors are seeking to procure a private sector group to deliver the Advance Tunnel (Jane to Mt. Dennis) Contract through a Design-Build-Finance ("DBF") delivery method pursuant to the Private Public Partnership ("P3") model.
