Note: The descriptions that follow are provided for general reference and understanding only. The specific scope of work to be provided shall be as described in the Contract Documents and individual Trade Category Forms of Proposal. General The Renovation of the Kentucky State Capitol project is separated into two major areas of Interior and Exterior work. The Interior work includes but is not limited to renovation and upgrade of: IT/Data infrastructure, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems. The Exterior work includes but is not limited to renovation and upgrade of: Dome, Lantern, Roof and Windows. The Interior Design team is KLH Engineers as prime consultant with K. Norman Berry as sub-consultant for architectural. The Exterior Design team is EOP Architects as prime consultant with sub-consultant Preservation Design Partnership (PDP). Bid Package 101: Exterior - Dome Scaffolding and Masonry Probing: The BP 101 scope includes the erection of scaffolding around the dome; and the removal/disassembly of the lantern in its entirety and removal of the terracotta cladding on the dome. The scaffold will remain in place until new cladding is in place (future bid package). Trade Categories (TC) Bidding in Bid Package 101: Trade Category Description TC101A Scaffolding TC101C Terracotta and Masonry Removal Bids shall be submitted only on the Official Forms supplied by Messer Construction Company. Failure to comply with the foregoing requirements will be cause for invalidation of bid. Contractors must submit their Technical Proposals (Part 1) and Bid (Part 2) in person or by e-mail. Bids, upon their receipt by Messer Construction Company are stamped showing the hour and date received. Bids received after the scheduled closing time for reception of bids will not be considered provided legal and accepted bids have been received on said referenced Invitation. Incomplete or qualified bids are subject to rejection. Deadline for Written Questions: 12/13/21 *Final Date for Addenda Part 1: 12/16/21 Part 1 Technical Proposals Due: 12/23/21 Notification of Part 2 Finalists(Short listed firms): 1/6/22 Part 2 Part 2 Bid Form Due 1/13/22 This project is NOT exempt from State and Local Sales and Use Tax. All applicable taxes will apply and shall be included in the Bid. The Advertisement for Bids, Paragraph 7, regarding taxes takes precedence over Section 002113 of the specifications, Instructions to Bidders, Article 14 TAXES Paragraph A. A Payment and Performance Bond shall not be included with the bid. If the bidder is not approved for participation in the SDI program, then the bidder will be required to furnish a proposal to add a 100% P&P Bond. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instruction to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Performance and Payment bonds shall be obliged in favor of Commonwealth of Kentucky and Messer Construction Company. A 5% bid bond is required with the submission of the form of proposal.
