Construction of a new Biosolids processing facility (BPF). Halifax Water is in the process of developing a program to procure services, equipment, and material for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a new BPF capable of handling and processing all residual solids from the above facilities up to the year 2046. The new facility will potentially be located at 330 Aerotech Drive, adjacent to the existing BPF. TIMELINE: A Request for qualifications to pre-qualify respondents as part of the utility's biosolids management strategy closed at the owner on February 25, 2022. The second stage of the procurement process got underway in mid-2024. Further project details and schedules may be confirmed by late 2024/2025. *Value listed may reflect the capital cost of this project.
