Renovation of a water / sewer project in Hardwood Lands, Nova Scotia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Construction of a new Biosolids processing facility (BPF). Halifax Water is in the process of developing a program to procure services, equipment, and material for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a new BPF capable of handling and processing all residual solids from the above facilities up to the year 2046. The new facility will potentially be located at 330 Aerotech Drive, adjacent to the existing BPF. TIMELINE: A Request for qualifications to pre-qualify respondents as part of the utility's biosolids management strategy closed at the owner on February 25, 2022. The pre-qualified proponents are to respond to a Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) RFP in the second stage of the procurement process, which will include providing full details on solutions and cost. The procurement process is expected to conclude by fall 2023. Further update at that time. *Value listed may reflect the capital cost of this project.
