A Bid Bond in the Amount of Five Percent (5%) of the Total Bid or an Annual Bid Bond Is Required Prior to Bid Opening. The work on this project shall be completed within fifteen (15) working days from the work order date in accordance with the plans and Standard Specifications. The Contractor shall be required to meet the DBE goal as designated in the respective bid proposal. (1) DBE's must be certified by KDOT. This scope of work consists of the replacement of the burner for the (1) Cleaver Brooks boiler with a new, high efficiency burner and controls. Additionally, this scope includes tuning of (1) Superior boiler burner to achieve stipulated combustion efficiency. Both boilers are located in the digester building at Wastewater Treatment Plant #2. New burner output capacities will be like-for-like, or as close as possible. This scope includes all demolition, equipment, shipping, material, and labor to replace and tune the identified units A. Demolition: I. Temporarily cap all piping, electrical, and other systems to make safe during the replacement of the Cleaver Brooks burner. II. Remove existing Cleaver Brooks burner components and controls. III. Dispose of removed equipment. B. Installation: I. Provide and install new burner equipment for Cleaver Brooks boiler. 1. Prior to installation, provide all submittals for review. 2. Meet or exceed the minimum performance criteria identified in this scope of work 3. Provide any necessary accessories for installation of the burner including but not limited to mounting plates, blank-offs, supports, etc. 4. Provide new controls system for new burner II. Reconnect Natural Gas Piping. 1. If necessary, provide new gas train or add/replace select accessories as necessary for new boiler operation, as required by the burner manufacturer, or the local AHJ. 2. Make modifications necessary to connect new burner to existing natural gas piping. 3. Properly support gas new piping and accessories, including any necessary seismic bracing. 4. Gas piping connection means shall match existing (i.e. welded, threaded, etc.). I. Provide electrical for new burners. 1. If possible, re-use existing electrical circuit to power new burner assembly. 2. If necessary, provide new conduit, wire, overcurrent protection, local disconnects, and other components necessary. 3. Provide power to any new control devices and actuators. 4. Any new wire shall be in EMT conduit or similar to existing. No MC cable shall be used. IV. Provide controls for new burner. 1. Provide new control assembly for new burner. 2. Proposal shall include all necessary wiring, sensors and components for an operable system. V. Tune each boiler burner 1. Provide burner tuning to achieve the desired performance and efficiency criteria
