Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Bedford, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

**As of February 22, 2022, This project has is not awarded because the bids are over the budget. Plan to re-bid soon. This project consists of the replacement of the Bedford Township Municipal Authority's Rodeway Inn Sewage Pumping Station. Major work involves the demolition of the existing pump station, the construction of a new 6' dia. precast concrete wet well to house two new chopper-style submersible pumps, the construction of a precast concrete valve vault to house all relevant pumping valves and appurtenances, and all yard piping and site work necessary to complete the work. a. Construction of a new wet well, installation of two submersible chopper pumps, construction of a precast concrete valve vault, installation of two sanitary sewer manholes, supply and installation of all other piping, appurtenances, and equipment necessary for the completion of the project b. All site work, including stabilized and bituminous area restoration work and all yard piping required to complete the work c. Exploratory exploration to confirm the location, size, and orientation of the existing gravity sanitary sewer pipes and force main. d. Demolition of existing pump station and approximately 50 LF of 4" CIP force main and other ancillary appurtenances. e. All electrical work necessary for the completion of the project f. All other work not listed, but shown on the Contract Drawings and described in the Contract Specifications, required to complete the work A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of Municipal Authority of the Borough of Bedford or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond on the form provided, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety (Surety companies must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payments Bonds, on the forms provided, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price with a surety company listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania. The Owner shall award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder or shall reject all bids within 60 days of the date of the bid opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 60-day period; PROVIDED, however, that if the award of the contract is delayed by a required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of the grant or grants, the Owner shall reject all bids or award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder within 120 days of the date of the BID opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 120-day period. Thirty (30) day extensions of the date for the award of the contract may be made by the mutual written consent of the Owner and the lowest responsible bidder. Bidders for this contract shall have completed projects similar in character and scope and will be required to provide with their Bid a Qualifications Statement for prime contractor and all subcontractors. Contract Times are 180 calendar days for Substantial Completion and 210 calendar days for Final Completion. The Bedford Township Municipal Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
