Site work and paving for a road / highway in Marion, Illinois. Design plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
As of August 2022, the project is in the design and land acquisition phase. Design will be done by owner in-house staff. Contractor bidding is expected to to commence in the summer of 2023. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is expected to start late 2023. The project location is just south of Marion and consists of milling and resurfacing the existing two-lane road, constructing 8-foot shoulders (5-foot asphalt and 3-foot aggregate), grading new ditches, and extending or replacing culverts. The project will begin near Wildcat Drive and continue to the south, ending near Illinois 148. A northbound right-turn lane will also be constructed at Lake of Egypt Road.
