Renovation of a medical facility in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
This Invitation to Tender is being issued by the Health Organization for (but not limited to): 1) Remove McQuay scroll compressor heat recovery chiller HRC-1 from Basement Mechanical Room through access hatch in Emergency Generator Room ceiling. Contract with Magnum Industrial for rigging. 2) Store McQuay scroll compressor heat recovery chiller to the Basement Level of the Robert HN Ho Prostrate Health and Hip Replacement Center close to overhead door to Jack Bell Research Center Basement Mechanical Room. Chiller will be re-purposed to supplement the chiller pant cooling at Jack Bell Research Centre. 3) Rig new Trane RTWD 160 screw compressor heat recovery chiller into UBCH CBH Basement Mechanical Room through access hatch in Emergency Generator Room. 4) Provide Add Alternate pricing to disassemble and re-assemble both chillers if rigging through the access hatch in the Emergency Generator Room proves to not be feasible. 5) Demolish two heating loop pumps P-3 and P-4 with suction guides and flo-trex valves on the Mezzanine Mechanical Level and replace with two larger pumps with larger suction guides and flo-trex valves. 6) Implement condenser water system piping retrofits with new piping, fittings, flow meters, controls valves and isolation valves. Provide insulation to match existing. 7) Provide condenser piping, control valves, isolation valves and flow meters around plate and frame heat exchanger PHX-1 thus piping the centrifugal chiller CH-1 condenser directly to the cooling tower. Provide cooling tower bypass piping to enable Ch-1 to operate during cold weather as a backup chiller. 8) The new heat recovery chiller will pre-purchased by the Owner to expedite delivery and turned over to the Mechanical Contractor for installation.
