The Berrien County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids or make any deviations deemed in the best interest of Berrien County. Quality: All materials/services furnished must be the best of their respective kinds (unless otherwise specified) and will be subject to our inspection and approval after delivery. If materials are rejected it will be held for disposition at your risk and expense The Owner anticipates that construction can begin no earlier than thirty (30) days after receiving notice of award of contract, or on the date agreed upon with the Engineer. In no case shall any work be commenced prior to receipt of formal notice of award by the Department. All project(s) shall be completed in their entirety including final site restoration and clean-up in a timely matter. Bid prices are to remain valid through December 31st, 2022. If required, after award and prior to the start of work, the Contractor must attend a preconstruction meeting with the Engineer. The Engineer will determine the day, time and place for the preconstruction meeting. The meeting will be conducted after project award and may be rescheduled if there are delays in the award of the project. The named subcontractor(s) for Designated and/or Specialty Items, as shown in the Proposal, should attend the preconstruction meeting if such items materially affect the work schedule.
