Site work and new construction of an elderly care / assisted living facility in Ajax, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 135,000-square-foot, six-story above grade, 192-bed elderly care / assisted living facility.
Schlegel Villages intends to build a new Long-Term Care Home in Ajax, Ontario. The site will be developed in two phases, with the Long-Term Care Home completed in Phase I and the Retirement Home completed in Phase II. The new Long-Term care Home is a 192-bed, six-storey concrete, structural steel and precast structure with an approximate gross area of 135,000 sq ft. The building envelope consists of masonry veneer, glazed curtainwall, vinyl windows and TPO roof system. TIMELINE: Trade prequalification has been issued by the Construction Manager; details are followed on a separate report. Construction is expected to begin spring 2023 and take approx. 24 months to complete. *Award amount of the contract is unreleased for publication. *The approximate construction value is $40.6 million.
