Proposed Intersection Improvements at Ft Jesse Road and Landmark Drive and Ft Jesse Road and Greenbriar Drive General Project Description: This project consists of the installation of new traffic signals and roadway widening at two intersections. The work includes approximately 214 CY of Removal of Unsuitable Material, 470 Ton of Subbase Granular Material, Ty. B, 372 SY of 8” PCC Pavement, 760 FT of Combination Concrete Curb & Gutter Removal and Replacement, 675 TON of Hot-Mix Asphalt, traffic signal equipment, and all other necessary items and incidentals required to complete this project according to the plans and specifications. Unless otherwise stated in the Invitation to Bid, each bidder must submit a Security Deposit with its Bid. The amount of the Security Deposit must be no less than 5% of the Bid amount The Security Deposit must be in the form of a bid bond, cashier’s check, or certified check. This is a prevailing-wage project. Prevailing-Wage Requirements; Davis-Bacon Act. The Prevailing Wage Act requires awarded vendors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers, and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the “prevailing rate of wages” in the county where the work is performed. When required, awarded vendors are responsible for paying current prevailing wage rates, as posted on the Illinois Department of Labor’s website at www.state.il.us/agency/idol SCHEDULE Contractor shall begin work within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Five (5) days notice shall be given by the Contractor prior to beginning work requiring closing of the street. Typical membrane curing as allowed by the Standard Specifications will not be permitted for concrete poured after September 15. A combination curing compound and salt blocker will be required after September 15. Chem Masters Silencure SRT or a Town approved equal shall be used after September 15. All work shall be completed on or before October 31, 2024. Article 108.09 shall apply if work is not completed by this date. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids received. The bid award will be made by the Town Council, and the decision of the Council will be final
