Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a library in Normal, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library; for site work for a library; and for asbestos abatement for a library.
See Architectural and MEPFP plans titled Normal Public Library - Interior Abatement and Renovation The Project consists of abatement of asbestos containing materials followed by the renovation of the building for the Normal Public Library, The Work includes the work of all trades required; and all the labor, materials, and equipment necessary and incidental to the construction and completion of the Work. Project name is "Asbestos Abatement Normal Public Library Fireproof Insulation, Overspray & Debris (a.k.a "Fireproofing") in Original Building. Base Bid ASB-1: AC shall properly Remove and Dispose of all Asbestoscontaining or contaminated materials including all Fireproof Insulation, Overspray & Debris; Lights, Lay-in Ceiling Tile/Grid; Supply & Return Air Ductwork, Diffusers, AHU Filters; Pipe, Drain & Ceiling/Deck Insulations; Vinyl Floor Tile, Sheet Vinyl, Carpet & Carpet Tile, Stair Treads, Mastics & Fillers (down to bare substrate); All Drywall (walls, columns, soffits, ceilings, etc.); Plaster Columns & Ceilings and Brick at locations indicated in bidding documents for the Original Building at Normal Public Library ("NPL"). See Architect's Drawings (A1, AD1 & HV1, etc.) for demolition of wall, ceiling, chase & ductwork locations inside containment(s). AC shall coordinate with General Contractor (GC) and Owner of any Items Owner requests AC shall thoroughly clean, support, protect and save (See also list attached this section). B. Schedule: It is anticipated work will begin for Base Bid ASB-1 tentatively around March 2024 and should be completed tentatively end of May, 2024, including clearance air and tear down activities. Contractor is allowed 10 weeks for Base Bid ASB-1 (and any Alternates, if accepted) including all aggressive clearance air monitoring. Location- 206 W College Avenue Normal Illinois 61761 bidder must submit a Security Deposit with its Bid. The amount of the Security Deposit must be no less than 5% of the Bid amount The Security Deposit must be in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check. Vendor agrees to furnish a performance and payment bond in the amount of $[contract price under The company acting as surety for any bond issued must be licensed to do business in the State of Illinois. The bond must be in a form acceptable to the Library Director. Vendor may not commence work until the bond is submitted to and approved by the Library Director. The Library reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to request rebids, to waive any formality or technicality in the bids, or to extend any of the time limits, such as shall best serve the best interests of the Library. The Library has the right to reject materials and workmanship that are defective or require correction. General liability: Combined single limits of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence. General liability insurance must include: (i) Products and completed operations coverage; (ii) Contractor's Protective coverage; and (iii) Personal Injury Liability coverage. Commencement of Work on site: March 2024 Substantial Completion: November 2024 Final Completion: December 2024 a. alternate no. 1: 1992 addition floor replacement, wall finish replacement & power/data system components replacement / modifications on the floor & walls 1. base bid: 1992 addition finishes shall remain as existing. all power outlets, floor boxes and data ports with their associated wiring remain as existing. 2. alternate bid: 1992 addition floor and wall finishes on the lower, main and upper levels are to be removed in their entirety. this includes all flooring, wall base and wall coverings on each level. the existing concrete subfloor surfaces are to be scarified mechanically to remove all residue and prepare the surface profile for the new floors. the concrete slabs on grade are to receive a moisture mitigation coating. new flooring and wall base, as noted on the drawings, are to be installed per manufacturer's instructions. the walls that had wall covering removed are to be sanded to remove all residue and skim coated with wall compound. all holes and gouges are to be patched on all wall surfaces. all walls are to be painted. all relocation, removal, and installation of new power outlets, floor boxes and data ports with associated wiring shall be included in this scope. b. alternate bid no. 2: 1992 addition ceiling system, mechanical component, electrical component, fire protection component replacement & modifications 1. base bid: 1992 addition ceiling system, mechanical diffusers, registers, grilles, fire alarm devices, speakers, sensors, light fixtures, emergency fixtures, associated lighting controls, exit signs, sprinkler heads, etc. shall remain as existing. 2. alternate bid: 1992 addition ceiling system and all associated components, mechanical diffusers, registers, grilles, fire alarm devices, speakers, sensors, light fixtures, emergency fixtures, associated lighting controls, exit signs, sprinkler heads, etc. on the lower, main and upper levels are to be removed in their entirety. each fixture or component is to be replaced in the same location or be relocated per the new work plans. locations where fixtures/components are installed within or on gypsum surfaces that are to remain. the surface is to be cut open to allow for the removal and replacement of the fixture/component. new fixtures/components, as noted on the drawings, are to be installed per manufacturer's instructions. after the fixtures are installed, any gypsum surface that was cut open shall be patched with the entire connected surface painted to natural break or corner. c. alternate bid no. 3: 1992 addition new maker space 216 1. base bid: the existing room 216 on the second floor of the 1992 addition is to remain as is. 2. alternate bid: all work shown on the drawings to renovate existing room 216 to a new maker space shall be included in this cost. this includes all demolition of existing walls, floor, ceilings, casework doors, etc and their subsequent replacement with new. d. alternate bid no. 4: led pendant fixtures 1. base bid: provide fourteen suspended acoustical rings on the main and second levels down the central spine. 2. alternate bid: provide fourteen suspended led pendant fixtures with integrated acoustical component on main and second level in lieu of acoustic rings. note: the suspended acoustical arcs on the main level are part of the base bid. these objects are unaffected by this alternate bid. e. alternate bid no. 5: foundation repair & exterior front plaza 1. base bid: the existing parking lot, concrete paving, and foundation are to remain as is. 2. alternate bid: the existing parking lot and concrete paving, in the area shown on drawings, shall be removed and subgrade excavated to allow for the crack repair and waterproofing of the existing foundation wall. the work to repair and waterproof the foundation, backfill/compact the subgrade, new utility work, new curbs, new paving and restoration of the area is to be included.
