The Project shall consist of ADA ramp and sidewalk construction and related pavement marking. All work contingent upon the successful relocation of a utility pole that is currently obstructing one of the proposed ramps. The work is estimated to cost $65,000.000 All work for this project must be substantially completed by June 15, 2022 Bids are subject to MGL c.30 39M and to minimum wage rates as required by MGL c.149 26 to 27H inclusive, as amended. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount and made payable to the City of Methuen. Pursuant to MGL c.30 39S, any person submitting a bid for, or signing a contract to work on, a public works project estimated to cost more than $10,000, must certify under the pains and penalties of perjury that he or she is able to furnish labor in harmony with all other elements of labor employed in the work and that all employees on the worksite, or in work subject to the bid, have successfully completed at least ten (10) hours of OSHA approved training. The City of Methuen reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City to do so. Contractors must be pre-qualified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) in the Highway-Construction category. This contract contains a combined goal of 10.4% for Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE) participation.
