This scope of work letter is offered to allow the University to obtain pricing for the complete replacement of the existing 15kV cabling that is in place through the manhole system between switching cubicles denoted as HVS1 and HVS4. The Proposed Scope of Work for this upgrade is as follows: 1. Replacement of existing conductors as shown on Drawing E2-0 conductors. Conductors to be as required by drawing and specifications. Each manhole is intended to contain a minimum of 3m of excess cable slack and shall be adequately supported within the manholes. Provide new support as necessary for proper cable dressing in each manhole. 2. Completely remove existing conductors from existing manhole system. Conductors to become property of the contractor for recycling. 3. Contractor to provide all necessary hoisting and rigging transport new conductors to site and install. 4. Clean inside HVS1 and HVS4 existing prior to termination of new conductors. 5. Inspect existing medium voltage connection points in HVS1 and HVS4 for any damage and thoroughly clean prior to reconnection. Provide new termination kits for all replaced conductors. Care shall be taken to preserve and protect the switching cubicles from damage during conductor removal and new conductor installation. 6. Carefully cover and completely seal tail ends of all cables in manhole to prevent any water infiltration into the cable until cables are permanently terminated. 7. Test conductors and provide testing report. 8. Test all connections, voltages, sequence, and rotation, prior to energizing building. Confirm main service is functioning properly following energizing. Spot check a few motors in buildings served to ensure rotations are correct. 9. Coordinate all outages and switching in writing with owner. 10. After new conductors have been installed and terminated the contractor shall notify SMP Engineering and assist with the collection of updated photographs of the manholes MH-E4, E5, E5a, E5c, E21, E21a, E22 & E23, and switching cubicles HVS1 & HVS4. Contractor to allow for assisting with the opening of all manhole covers and provision of ladder as required.
