The University of Iowa (Owner) is currently in the Design Phase of a project titled UIHC Centralized Emergency Power Generation Facility - Expand Facility and has been authorized by the Board of Regents, State of Iowa to proceed with procurementof Construction Manager Services where the Construction Manager is at-Risk. The Owner intends to retain a Construction Management firm to join the project team during the Design Phase and to continue through the Construction Phase, occupancy, and warranty period of the project. The Owner is requesting submissions from firms who can demonstrate they have resources, experience, and qualifications to provide Construction Management Services for the project. Begin Construction - October 2022 This project scope will includes: 1) constructing a building addition to the existing Emergency Power Generation Facility (EPGF) and upgrading the fuel oil storage; 2) installing a new 13.8kV diesel generator to serve as emergency power for RCP and PFP; 3) demolishing the existing generator sets at RCP and PFP; installing the utility infrastructure, duct banks and additional feeders; 4) installing telecommunication infrastructure; 5) installing substations in RCP and PFP and 6) miscellaneous work to support the project. The project budget is $35 million. The estimated construction budget is $26.3 million.
