PROJECT 22-10 MCTRA 249 CONCRETE SLOPE PAVING AT PATRIDGE CIRCLE INTERSECTION WITH SH249 FRONTAGE ROAD MCTRA All bids shall be submitted on the basis of lump sum pricing as provided in the bid specifications. Payment to successful bidder shall be net thirty (30) days after receipt of products, materials, services or invoices, whichever is later unless otherwise stated in specifications. The right is reserved, as the interest of Montgomery County Commissioners Court may require rejecting any one or all bids and to waive any informality in bids received. All bids received after the above designated closing time will be returned unopened. If the bid amount exceeds $100,000.00, a Bid Bond from an approved surety company-holding permit from the State of Texas will be required. A prevailing wage rate has been prescribed for this project. Location of the Work is between the main SH249 northbound toll lanes and the northbound SH249 frontage road - near where Patridge Circle tees into the SH249 northbound frontage road. b. Estimated Square Feet of 4in TXDOT Class B (2000psi) Concrete needed: 9184SF c. Estimated Cubic Yardage of 4in TXDOT Class B Concrete: 112 CY (9184 x 0.33 / 27) d. Size of Welded Wire Fabric - to be held at midpoint of concrete for all slope paving areas: 6 x6 - W2.9 x W2.9 e. Site grading is anticipated to smooth out the existing grade to prepare the site for the placement of 4in of concrete - please visit the site to determine the amount of work this will entail. Any material removed from the site necessary for the completion of the installation of the 4in of concrete slope paving will be disposed of at the contractor's expense. A portion of the material excavated from the work site may be placed along the existing ditch-line between the northbound frontage road and MCTRA 249. These locations are south of the work area and will be specifically located by the engineer. The amount of material that could be placed in the ditch line is approximately 20-30CY. No additional payment will be made to relocate this material or to spread out the material to match the existing ditch grades at these locations. f. Approximately 100Lf of Sin straw wattles along the curb-line will need to be removed and disposed of. g. Traffic Control shall be set up on the frontage road per TXDOT Specification for Lane Closures on Multilane Roads -TCP (1-4)-12. A single lane must be left open at all times. TXDOT will need to be contacted to grant lane closure permissions. Lane closures will not be allowed overnight. It is anticipated that TXDOT will have time restrictions for lane closures between 9am and 3pm Monday- Friday, but for weekend work there are typically no time restrictions. h. Slope concrete to drain into the storm sewer inlet at northwest quadrant of MCTRA249/ Patridge Circle intersection. Concrete must also slope away from the SH249 frontage road curb-line and SH249 toll lanes. i. Sod shall be placed where construction activities have disturbed/destroyed the existing ditch vegetation. j. The work will be contained by the SH249 frontage road curb-line and the SH249 toll lanes concrete mow strip. k. Concrete trucks shall not be allowed to clean out on the project site. I. All standard concrete placement practices should be followed pertaining to curing, expansion, joints, forming and finishing. m. The Engineer will require a concrete pour plan in writing 10days prior to placing concrete. Pour plan to state contractors anticipated joint layout, forming and curing methods. The required concrete pour plan should also include the contractor recommended concrete mix design- based on item "b" and the contractor recommended expansion material to be used for the work. n. The contractor will be allowed 10 working days to complete the entirety of this work. A 1'-6" deep by 8" wide toe wall with wire mesh reinforcing shall be poured monolithically with the 4" slope paving concrete. The location of the toe walls shall be required at the top (along the mow strip) and bottom of the westerly slope and shall only be required where the width of the westerly slope's concrete rip rap is greater than 8LF. No toe walls are planned on the easterly slopes. An estimated 550LF total length of toe wall should be included in the lump sum price. Weep Holes shall also be installed 2 vertical feet up from the toe of the bottom toe wall, where toe walls are constructed. Weep Holes shall be spaced at 14ft intervals and include: one square yard of non-woven geotextile fabric, one lineal foot of 4in PVC pipe, and one cubic foot of clean drainage gravel (pea gravel) at each location. An estimated quantity of 20 Weep Hole locations shall be included in the lump sum price. Underground Utilities are known to exist within this work location. It is the contractor's responsibility to contact the utility companies and call Texas811 for utility locates before any work begins.
