The scope of work consists in general, of the following: Demolition and plugging of three (3) abandoned groundwater wells, installation of approximately 1740 LF of 8" C900 PVC water line, supplementary valves and fire hydrants, and construction of a 230gpm submersible public supply well, a liquid ammonium sulfate disinfection system, and a small fiberglass building. Also included is extensive exploratory excavation of existing mains and multiple interconnections with crossing water lines. All contractors/subcontractors whose System for Award Management (SAM. gov) registration indicate debarment, suspension or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Each bid must be accompanied by certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, duly executed and Payable to the City of Tahoka, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid. All sealed bids will be promptly opened and read aloud in the council chambers of City Hall located at 1807 N. Main Street, Tahoka, Texas at 2:00 p.m. on the bid date. Bids received after 2:00 p.m. will be returned unopened. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder, and to hold the lowest bid and bid security for a period of not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days before the execution of Contract.
