The hospital was originally constructed in 1927 with several additions made in 1949, 1957, and 1971. The building was last used in 1987 and has been vacant since that time. There is extensive damage to the building. The roof has collapsed in certain areas, and there is extensive water intrusion which has damaged and/or weakened structural features. Finishings such as dry wall, suspended ceiling tiles, etc. have been completely damaged and have dropped from their original positions to lie on the floor throughout the building. The building is constructed into the side of a hill, which slopes downward at a significant slope to the east. There are two asphalt parking areas--one on the "lower level" at the base of the slope and a larger lot on the "upper level." Portions of the property are bordered by a public park (Scidmore Park).
