The project consists of furnishing the following supplies, equipment, and/or services. Each Contractor working in Owner occupied space will provide necessary means of protection to floors, walls, ceilings, equipment as required to accomplish work without harming or damaging existing conditions Contractors working on roofs are required to take appropriate precautionary measures to protect existing roofing from damage. Contractors are required to take all precautionary measures necessary to ensure that their items do not fall or blow off the roofs. Prior to performing work in areas with smoke and fire detection systems the Contractor shall coordinate with the CM precautionary measures to eliminate false alarms. If the fire alarm system is activated and there is not an emergency the Contractor responsible for the false activation shall be responsible to pay for all resulting owner incurred expenses such as Emergency Response fees. The Fire Suppression Contractor shall establish system elevations prior to fabrication and installation. The Fire Suppression Contractor shall coordinate elevations with other trades. All elevations shall be coordinated with all trades in the field prior to installation. When a conflict between trades arises, the design team shall be notified immediately prior to further installation however priority shall be as follows: 1. Lighting Fixtures 2. Gravity flow piping, including steam and condensate. 3. Electrical bus duct. 4. Sheet metal. 5. Cable trays, including access space. 6. Other piping. The bids are for a single Prime Contract as indicated by DCI Group for the construction of the future Intermediate Elementary School in Polk City, IA. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Work is anticipated to commence upon award of contract, and be completed by August 5th, 2022, as shown in the Contract Documents. The forecasted date to start construction is May 31st, 2022 A public hearing will be conducted at a meeting to be held at District Office Board Room at 13930 NE 6th Street, Alleman, IA 50007, at 6:00 p.m., local time, on January 20th, 2021, at which time and place any person may appear and file objections to the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and the estimated cost of said project. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The award of the contract may be made by North Polk Community School District to any responsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowest price taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of the Owner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
