The work for which bids are asked includes the following: Installation of approximately 3,575 feet of 8-inch diameter PVC water main along Spring Street, N. Galena Road, and looped out to Lowden Road. Water services will be replaced along Spring Street and 6 water services will be horizontally directional drilled under IL 78. The project also includes reconstruction of Spring Street including approximately 1,772 feet of concrete curb and gutter, 690 tons of HMA, PCC sidewalks, driveway replacement and miscellaneous restoration. The anticipated substantial completion date is June 24, 2022 and final completion date is August 23, 2022. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the OWNER as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages. No bid may be withdraw within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
