Escambia County Marine Resources Division (MRD) maintains approximately 12 waterways safety zones and navigation channels in waterways surrounding Escambia County. Escambia County seeks prices from properly licensed and insured (See Attached Insurance Requirements) marine contractors to install and maintain waterways signs, pilings, etc. Escambia County will purchase new aluminum signs (rectangular approx. 36" x 48"; square approx. 36" x 36"; triangular approx. 48"base x 48"height; and similar sizes). Escambia County will also furnish flashing lights (if required) and 6" wide white retro-reflective material to wrap (attach to wood pilings with three roofing nails/band) around pilings as specified immediately upon installation. Contractor will furnish stainless-steel screws, washers, bolts, all-thread, CCA-treated marine grade 2" x 6" lumber for framing and mounting signs and lights as specified. Contractor will furnish and install nylon washers between aluminum signs and stainless-steel washers to prevent galvanic corrosion. Contractor will furnish and install nylock nuts on all bolt connections. Contractor will provide new wooden CCA-treated marine grade pilings and/or fiberglass pilings (20'-40' lengths x 6"-10" diameters) to be delivered to a location determined by contractor. The County will reimburse the cost of the pilings plus 10% back to Contractor. When submitting final invoices, Contractor will include the vendors invoice for the pilings as back up. Contractor will provide all equipment to transport and install pilings, signs and lights at the proper location, orientation, etc. to the satisfaction of Escambia County.
