For the Chelsea Sports Complex II Concession Building, for furnishing all materials labor, tools, and equipment, and for doing the work of constructing, according to Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents on file in the office of said City of Chelsea, Alabama, No bids will be received after the time set forth hereinabove; All Bids will be received by individual package, contractors may bid on (1) one or all packages, or any combination of packages for which contractors have experience and are duly qualified to bid, as a contractor within Shelby County, Alabama. Divisions are as follows: Site Electrical, Septic System Package, Landscaping & Irrigation Package, Concrete Package, Masonry Package, Steel Package, Carpentry & Roof Truss Package, Millwork Package, Roofing Package, Hollow Metal Doors, Toilet Partition & Toilet Accessories Package, Roll-Up Doors Package, Epoxy Flooring Package, Truss Insulation & Acoustical Ceiling Package, Painting Package, Plumbing & Domestic Water Service Package, Mechanical Package, Building - Electrical Package, Hardscape Package; Bidders must be able to provide a current Certificate of General Liability insurance, vehicle insurance, and workman's compensation insurance. Bidder is responsible for all license and qualifications as required for building permit in Shelby County, Alabama. The lowest bidder will be determined by labor cost first, and combined cost second. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in any bid, and to accept any bid, or combination of bids deemed to be advantageous to the Owner. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving the bids. All General Contractors and Sub-Contractors performing work on this project will hold a City of Chelsea Business License as required by law. The attention of all bidders is called to the provisions of State Law Governing General Contractors, as set forth in Chapter 4 (Section 65 to 82, inclusive) of Title 46 of the Code of Alabama for 1940, as amended; and bidders shall be governed by said law insofar as it is applicable. The above mentioned provisions of the Code make it illegal for the Owner to consider a bid from anyone who is not properly licensed under such code provisions. The Owner, therefore will not consider any bid unless the bidder produces evidence that he is so licensed. Neither will the Owner enter into a Contract with a foreign corporation, which is not qualified under State Law to do business in the State of Alabama. The City of Chelsea is a tax exempt entity.
