As of February 16, 2022, the project is anticipated to be awarded on February 22, 2022. The project will consist of cleaning and repainting two elevated water tanks. The 150,000 gallon tank is 34' diameter and 144' tall. The 250,000 gallon tank is 44' diameter and 165' tall. Both tanks were last re-painted in July 2006. These requirements shall not be waived. The 150,000 gallon tank will need a new cable float level gauge installed. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. A Bid Bond will be required and must be included in the sealed bid proposal package to be considered a responsive bid. The Owner intends to award a single contract for the base bid scope of work noted above to a single General Contractor. The Owner will accept proposals only from firms which demonstrate their experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this Project. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bid Proposals, to waive any informality in any Bid Proposal, and to accept any Bid Proposal considered advantageous to the Owner. The Contract award, if made, will be made to the low responsive, responsible Bidder. No Bid Proposal may be withdrawn after the time for opening Bid Proposals has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold Bid Proposals for a period of sixty (60) days after the date of receiving Bid Proposals. No bid proposal shall be accepted after the time stated for receiving bid proposals in this notice. Release of the Bid Documents to the Bidder Does Not Imply Acceptance of the Bidder's Qualifications by the Owner or Engineer. Bids Must Be Submitted on Proposal Forms Furnished by the Engineer or Copies Thereof. All Bidders Bidding in Amounts Exceeding That Established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors Must Be Licensed Under the Provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and Must Show Evidence of License Before Bidding or Bid Will Not Be Received or Considered by the Engineer; the Bidder Shall Show Such Evidence by Clearly Displaying His or Her Current License Number on the Outside of the Sealed Envelope in Which the Proposal Is Delivered. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any or All Proposals and to Waive Technical Errors if, in the Owner's Judgment, the Best Interests of the Owner Will Thereby Be Promoted. The Contractor Shall Obtain and Pay for All Licenses and Permits Required by the State, County, or City Authorities Regarding the Specified Work. This Is a Sales and Use Taxes Exempt Project. Do Not Include Any Sales or Use Taxes in the Contract Amount.
