The Village of Milton, located in Pike County Illinois is seeking bids for the completion of a replacement well and the sealing of an existing water supply well. The project shall generally consist of the following: 1) Preparation of engineering plans and specifications for acquisition of a construction permit from the Illinois EPA and completion of all requirements necessary to obtain a construction permit. 2) Construction of the new 8" well with 15 feet of 8" telescope screen constructed into a fractured limestone formation. 3) Development and testing of the well at 75 GPM for 24 hours followed by 90% recovery readings. 4) 5 Ft. Precast valve vault, 2" flowmeter, 4" check valves, 4" gate valve and sampling device. 5) Pipeline and connection to existing 4" raw water line. 6) Removal of pumping equipment from Well No. 5 with any defective parts replaced as required and installation in new well. 7) Installation of an 8" x 10" Baker pit-less adapter and submersible pumping equipment. 8) Connection to existing electric controls, supply and install NEMA 3R disconnect box near well along with conduit and wire to new well. 9) Water sampling and testing as required by IEPA. 10) Sealing of existing well with bentonite and neat cement grout due to failed casing. 11) Obtain operating permit from the IEPA at completion of well. 12) Submit well sealing documents to IDPH, IEPA and ISWS. All work must be preformed to workmanlike standard by licensed Illinois Department of Public Health Well and Pump Installation contractors and all new components must be of standard commercial grade quality and preform to industry standards upon installation. All contractors submitting a bid shall provide a list of all design build public water supply wells completed in the 5 years. The Village of Milton reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formality or irregularity and to require evidence of qualifications, including references, prior to award of contract.
