Renovation of a mixed-use development in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The School District of Jenkintown will be receiving sealed bids for the Jenkintown School District's '2022 Summer Work' Project in accordance with the Bidding Documents prepared by Godshall Kane O'Rourke (GKO) Architects, 300 Brookside Avenue, Building 18, Suite 150, Ambler, Pennsylvania, 19002. The project involves the complete renovations of (6) Toilet rooms as well as a classroom renovation and two gymnasiums. Work includes but is not limited to renovations of existing spaces, new related finishes, fixed casework, new bathroom fixtures and accessories, new mechanical HVAC systems, and lighting systems. TYPE OF BIDS: Separate Fixed-Fee Bids (for General Construction Contract, HVAC Construction, Plumbing Construction and Electrical Construction) will be received for the work. BID SECURITY: Bids shall be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid submitted, made payable to the Owner, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, if awarded the Contract, enter into a Contract with the Owner in accordance with Bid submitted and the Contract Documents. COMMENCEMENT: Onsite construction work may commence on June 20, 2022. All Contractor procurement, submittal reviews, and administrative work may commence as soon as a Contract has been awarded, and the submitted bonds and insurance certificates to the Owner's Representative have been approved. BONDING REQUIREMENTS: Each Prime Contractor will be required to provide a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100-percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. OWNERS RIGHTS: Owner reserves the right to reject a Bid which is incomplete or irregular, the right to wave informalities or irregularities in a Bid received, and the right to accept a Bid which is in the Owner's judgment as the Owner's best interests. WAGE DETERMINATION REQUIREMENTS: Contract is subject to compliance with the applicable Schedule of Prevailing Wages Rates, in accordance with the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. Prospective bidders may also make arrangements for additional visits to the project site by contacting Mike Nickerson. Please be advised that Covid safety protocols may be in place.
