Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Seaside, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 51,700-square-foot laboratory facility; conference / convention center; for site work for a laboratory facility; and conference / convention center.
As of February 19. 2026, construction is underway. Construction stared on December 30, 2025 and will be completed in fall 2027. This project will construct a new 51,700 ASF/88,100 GSF building (#26) to support growing enrollment in science disciplines. The new building will provide capacity for 322 FTE (207 FTE in lecture space, 49 FTE in lower division laboratory space, 66 FTE in upper division laboratory space, 25 faculty offices), conference rooms, administration office spaces, storage, and special instruction rooms. This project will include the demolition of the Science Research Lab Annex (#13), eliminating approximately over $3 million in deferred renewal. This Project is in included in the city's 2022-2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 18, 2025, this project is in the schematic design phase. An architect and a design/builder have been selected. A timeline for bidding and construction has not been determined.
