Renovation of a clubhouse / community center in San Lorenzo, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
Located at 1970 Via Buena Vista in San Lorenzo, this third phase of the San Lorenzo Community Park addresses the 8,700 sf Community Center building sited adjacent to the Phase 2 park area that is currently being upgraded. As part of the overall park renovations, we are planning to modernize and expand the existing building by approximately 2,100 sf. The building and remaining two-plus acres of park site renovations include an interior and exterior remodel with new exterior siding, the expansion of the building footprint on two sides, accessibility improvements and seismic upgrades along with replacement of the existing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. The biggest program addition is the expansion of the special events room to house larger gatherings and providing a commercial kitchen space for facility users. Further additions to the scope are a community events plaza with specialty paving, seating, shaded areas, bocce ball courts, parking lot upgrades and park landscaping with bioretention basins. Of special note that would set this project's scope apart from other tenant improvement only related projects are the installation of both new piles and enhancements for existing piles to serve and strengthen the foundation for the entire building, plus a very high water table at the site. In addition to the outlined scope, the awarded contractor will be required to effect the Phase 3 community center building renovations along a defined phasing line of work and to coordinate that work with the in-process/on-going construction of the current Phase 2 project and contractor as necessary. RRM Design Group (San Leandro) prepared the District-approved park renovation master plan for Phases 1, 2 and 3. Dahlin Group Architecture (Pleasanton) is the project architect for the community center building portion of Phase 3. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time
