The City of Birmingham Board of Education ("Board") is soliciting sealed bids from interested contractors to supply Interactive Flat Panel Displays ("IFPDs") meeting the requirements in the Bidder Information materials (the "Equipment") and furnish a multi-year service program for that Equipment. Interested contractors may obtain a copy of these Materials (which include the Specifications, Contractor's Bid Response Form, Bidder Qualification Form, and other Contract Documents) online at the Board's website. Bids will be accepted until the time and date specified above, at which time they will be opened publicly and read as soon thereafter as practicable. Each bidder is responsible for making all arrangements to assure that their bid is received at the above specified location at or before the designated bid opening time; bids received after this time will not be considered. Further, to be considered for the award of the contract contemplated in the Bidder Information materials (the "Contract"), an interested bidder must complete and return with its bid all forms and provide the information requested in the Bidder Information materials and furnish a bid bond or other bid security of the lesser of $10,000 or 5% of their bid. The Board will not conduct a Pre-Bid Conference with this bid. Questions about the specifications for the Equipment, the Bidder Information Materials or doing business with the Board may be directed in writing to the attention of Edward McMullen, the Board's Director of Purchasing, at purchasing@bhm.k12.al.us no later than 4:00 P.M. on January 5, 2022. The Board will award the Contract to the responsive bidder that it determines has submitted the lowest responsible bid. In making this determination, the Board will consider factors other than just price, including, but not limited to, the bidder's ability to supply the Equipment, furnish required warranties and service, maintain it pursuant to the Board's requirements, and the instructional compatibility of the Equipment with the Board's existing systems. The successful bidder (the "Contractor") also must meet certain qualifications that are designated in the Bid Information materials, including its experience performing similar contracts for other school boards or like institutions. The Board reserves the right accept or reject any or all submitted bids, and to waive any informality related to them.
