The Del Norte County Administrative Office will receive Proposals for Consultant services for development of an Agriculture Agritourism Planning Feasibility Study. This Feasibility Study will allow Del Norte County to gauge potential interest in and demand for Agritourism and Food Maker/Facility industries in Del Norte County. The study will identify and assess opportunities and constraints for the initiation and evolution of Agritourism and Food Maker/Facility Industries within the community, including agricultural activities that have expanded beyond traditional farming, to preserve and sustain agriculture within the County. The study's underlying aim is to encourage activities primarily agricultural education and tourism that increase the public's knowledge and understanding of the County's Agricultural areas, enhance its attractiveness and economic viability as a destination and support its farms and the families that operate them, by providing living wage jobs, all the while preserving the County's agricultural culture and heritage. The goals of this study are to provide a better understanding of existing agriculture and rural tourism in Del Norte County, and to evaluate potential impacts and benefits of providing greater opportunity for rural tourism within the community. Del Norte County will execute either a firm, fixed-price contract, or a cost-reimbursement contract for these services that is contingent on 20-CDBG-12086 awarded funding.
