Renovation of an educational facility in Decatur, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 130,000-square-foot educational facility.
A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The project is being bid EXCLUDING SALES TAXES and requires the Contractor to comply with the requirements of Act 2013-205 which was signed into law on May 19, 2013. Project must be within 240 calendar days from the "Notice to Proceed". The Work includes re-roofing of 11 existing buildings of approximately 130,000 square feet combined total of all buildings. Roof work consist of the removal of existing roof gravel down to existing roofing membrane/lightweight concrete deck and installing new lightweight concrete with EPS insulation and 60 mil TPO roofing membrane sloped to perimeter of building with gutter and downspouts.
