City of Pilot Point is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project: Rural Watermain Extensions The Project includes the following Work: Approximately 18,000 LF of 8" & 12" C900 PVC watermain in rural areas with associated appurtenances including roadway bores and HDPE service connections. A. Preparing ground, fertilizing, mulching, seeding and/or sodding per the description on the drawings and as specified herein. B. All areas disturbed by construction activities (including Contractor's staging areas) shall be seeded/hydromulched or sodded as specified herein regardless of whether called out on Drawings as follows: 1. The Contractor shall sod all disturbed areas with slopes that are 4:1 or greater 2. All disturbed areas inside treatment plant / storage tank fences shall receive slab sod. 3. Residential yards and/or areas of improved and maintained existing turf shall receive solid slab sod. 4. All other disturbed areas shall receive seed and hydromulch. C. Limits of disturbed areas to be grassed include actual ground disturbance plus four (4') feet outside of disturbed area / trench / fenced area. D. If no pay item(s) are included in the Bid Form, furnishing and installing of turfs and grasses as specified herein shall be included in associated items of work. E. Grassing shall not be performed until underground utilities, storm drainage structures, surfacing and structures in or adjacent to areas to be planted have been installed, tested, inspected and approved. F. It is the contractor's responsibility to accurately quantify the amount of each type of grassing to be included in the bid amount. G. Any conflict in requirements for areas to be grassed the more stringent shall apply and be bid by the Contractor. No verbal questions will be responded to.
