Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Duarte, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The general nature of the work consists of furnishing all labor, material, equipment, services, and incidentals required for the roadway improvements. The scope of the work includes cold milling of asphalt concrete and resurfacing, localized pavement repairs as needed, adjustment of existing utility covers, installing pavement markings and striping, constructing curb & gutter, removal and restoration of ADA ramps and all appurtenant work. No bid shall be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the City of Duarte and is in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, Latest Edition, and all supplements thereto. Pursuant to Labor Code Section 1771.4, all bidders are hereby notified that this project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The Bidding Contractor must possess a valid Contractor's License issued by the Contractor's State Board at the time the bid is submitted and shall be licensed according with the provisions of the Business and Professional Code. The contractor shall possess a Class A licenses at the time this contract is awarded. Additional Bidding information as follows: o The City will deduct a 5 percent retention from all progress payments o The successful Contractor and his/her subcontractors will be required to possess a business licenses from the City of Duarte o Grind and overlay at the Valley View School area (Deerlane Dr and Melcanyon Rd) shall be performed during the week of Spring Break, March 28 thru April 1, 2022. Construction shall be completed within 45 working days of the effective date the City releases the Construction Notice to Proceed. Procurement of all necessary components to complete the project per plans and specifications shall be procured within five (5) days of City Staff providing a Notice to Proceed for Construction Materials. Construction shall be completed within 45 working days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. The bid prices shall include all costs, including labor, materials, and all other incidental cost to complete the project, in compliance with the Bid and Contract Documents and applicable standards. All other work items not specifically listed in the bid schedule, but necessary to complete the work per bid and contract documents and applicable standards are assumed to be included in the bid prices. BIDDER understands that a bid is required for the entire work, that the quantities set forth in the Bid Schedule are to calculate total bid amount, and that final compensation under the contract will be based upon the actual quantities of work satisfactorily completed. Bidders shall be responsible for verifying the issuance of addenda before submitting a bid. Notes All necessary forms, specifications and other bid documents may be viewed and downloaded electronically. Businesses who have registered in the Vendor Portal will receive email notices when a new request for bid or proposal relevant to their line of business is issued. Any interested party may view the City's solicitations, as well as the bid results and final notices of award, by logging into the Vendor Portal and using the search features to locate the items of interest. The City's policy is to award bids to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Requests for proposals are awarded to the company whose proposal provides the best overall value and best meets the needs of the City. Bidders shall be responsible for verifying the issuance of addenda before submitting a bid. Each bidder shall fully acquaint himself/herself with the conditions relative to construction, labor, plan, specifications, and special provisions. Submission of the proposal shall be taken as conclusive evidence of this familiarity with the job site and conditions relative thereto.
