Site work for a civil project in Watsonville, California. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project is located at MP8.85 of the Santa Cruz Branch Line North of Watsonville, CA, in the County of Santa Cruz, State of California; Latitude, Longitude 33 or Section, 33 Township 12S, Range 1E, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) map Watsonville West; Assessors Parcel Number 323 and 327. The proposed Project will construct a 10 foot high tieback soldier pile retaining wall at the location along the Santa Cruz Branch rail line as depicted in the plans. The proposed Project will also construct drainage improvements consisting of ditch improvement and new chain link fence installation. The construction is anticipated to begin within fifteen (15) working days of Notice to Proceed. The project is to be completed in 65 working days. There are no funding requirements. Contractor shall possess a Class A License at the time of contract award. Bids are required for the entire work called for by the Plans and Specifications, and neither partial nor contingent bids will be considered. Any addenda or notices issued during the time of bidding and forming a part of the documents provided to the Bidder for the preparation of the contractor's bid, shall be covered in the bid and shall be made a part of the contract. The Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of addenda in form provided. No bid will be considered unless it is made in accordance with the provisions of the proposal requirements and conditionsset forth under Section 2 of the Standard Specifications of the State California, Department of Transportation, dated 2018, except as modified in these Special Provisions. A bid must include a bidder's security in the amount of 10% of the total bid. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price and a Labor and Material Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the contract price with good and sufficient surety. In accordance with California Public Contract Code Section 3400, bidders may propose equals of products listed in the technical specifications or project plans by identifying the manufacturer name, brand or model number in the bid, unless the technical specifications or plans specify that the product is necessary to match others in use. Complete information for products proposed as equals must be submitted to the Project Engineer for review at least 10 Days before the time specified for bid opening. This submission deadline shall control over the timeline set forth in Section 6-1.05 of the Standard Specifications. In accordance with Section 1771.1 of the Labor Code, a contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered with the Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded. In accordance with the provisions of Section 1774 of the Labor Code of California, the prevailing wage rates for classifications of Labor to be employed in the work have been determined by the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission and incorporated by reference in the Special Provisions of the Bid Documents. Davis Bacon Act and related Act provisions are included and incorporated here by reference. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date set for the opening of bids. The Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
