Renovation of an educational facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 56,000-square-foot educational facility.
The City of Murfreesboro is accepting sealed bids for Reroofing City Schools Phase 1 - Mitchell-Neilson and Reeves-Rogers Elementary Schools Question Submission Deadline: January 18, 2022, 2:00pm Project includes partial building reroofing at two (2) schools buildings owned by Murfreesboro City Schools. School buildings and addresses are as follows: A. Mitchell-Neilson Elementary School 711 West Clark Boulevard Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37129 B. Reeves-Rogers Elementary School 1807 Greenland Drive Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130 1.2 Work at Mitchell-Neilson Elementary School includes, but is not limited to, the following: A. Erection of temporary fences, barricades, and other safety measures, as necessary, to protect occupants, staff, visitors, and the public from the work and materials storage areas. Fencing and access points to the roof shall be located to prevent blocking or interference with exits from the building. B. Removal of existing roofing, roof insulation, edge metal, gutters, and downspouts. Remove materials to expose existing metal roof deck. Remove materials and dispose of off site. C. Removal of existing roof materials and re-roofing operations shall be performed in a manner which will maintain the use and water tightness of the building. The Contractor will be responsible for restoration of any damage, including damage to interior finishes, caused by failure to take proper precautions. D. New roof system includes 1/2 " cover board and pre-tapered rigid roof insulation board sloped to roof edge and mechanically attached to existing metal roof deck, and 60 mil EPDM single membrane rubber roof installed fully adhered. E. Flashing of all roof mounted items, including mechanical equipment curbs, plumbing vent pipes and roof to wall connections, shall be in accordance with theEPDM roof manufacturer's standard details for the applicable condition. F. All mechanical fasteners, adhesives, and system components shall be installed in accordance with roof manufacturer's requirements to achieve a 72 mile per hour wind speed warranty. G. Install new pre-finished metal roof edge, fascia, covers, gutters, and downspouts. H. Install new pre-cast concrete splash blocks at each new downpsout. I. All roofing materials and accessories shall be installed in accordance with roof manufacturer's requirements to qualify for a 20-year Total System "Leak Free" Warranty. J. Asbestos abatement of existing corrugated siding. K. Installation of new metal siding where existing siding is removed. L. At the conclusion of work, the entire facility and any existing construction damaged during the course of re-roofing operations, including landscaping, lawn, sidewalks, curbs, pavement, and the existing building exterior envelope, shall be restored to preconstruction conditions. M. The area to be reroofed is approximately 20,000 square feet Work at Reeves Rogers Elementary School includes, but is not limited to, the following: A. At existing lightweight concrete roof area, new roof system includes 1/2 " cover board, rigid roof insulation board, ventilating base sheet and 60 mil EPDM single membrane rubber roof installed fully adhered. The ventilating base sheet shall be mechanically attached to the existing lightweight concrete deck with Zonolite fasteners spaced in accordance with current FM 1-29 Data Sheet. The 1/2 " cover board, rigid roof insulation board, and 60 mil EPDM single membrane rubber roof shall be installed fully adhered. F. Flashing of all roof mounted items, including mechanical equipment curbs, plumbing vent pipes and roof to wall connections, shall be in accordance with the EPDM roof manufacturer's standard details for the applicable condition. G. All mechanical fasteners, adhesives, and system components shall be installed in accordance with roof manufacturer's requirements to achieve a 72 mile per hour wind speed warranty. H. Install new pre-finished metal roof edge, fascia, covers, gutters, and downspouts. I. Install new pre-cast concrete splash blocks at each new downpsout. J. Install new underground storm water drain pipe system connected to certain new metal downspouts. K. Install new premanufactured roof pipe supports for existing natural gas piping. L. All roofing materials and accessories shall be installed in accordance with roof manufacturer's requirements to qualify for a 20-year Total System "Leak Free" Warranty. M. Asbestos abatement of existing corrugated siding. N. Installation of new metal siding where existing siding is removed. O. Disconnect existing utility service and refrigerant lines at certain existing roof mounted HVAC units as required for reroofing operations. P. Removal of portions of existing concrete walks and installation of new PVC drain pipes. Replacement of concrete walks where pipe is installed with new concrete walks to match existing
