Renovation of a detention facility in Lucasville, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) is an adult maximum-security prison facility operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC). SOCF was constructed in 1968 and is comprised of approximately 37 buildings on 1,625 acres. The facility is located at 1724 St. Rt. 728 Lucasville, OH 45699. It is the intent of ODRC to completely replace the aging roofing systems and associated roof drains, exhaust fans, roof ventilators, etc. on several of the cell block units, as well as the corridor roofing systems that connect them to the central corridor. The design will include the replacement of a new roofing system for two (2) dorm/cell block buildings and corridors totaling approximately 192,000 sq. ft.: 2 - Cellblocks L & K (172,225 SF total) 1 - Corridor C (19,720 SF) As indicated above, the scope of services will take place at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility (SOCF) and the project scope will include a complete replacement of the existing roofing systems in the building areas described above. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner's project requirements. Participate in the Encouraging Growth, Diversity & Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. Total Project Cost: $2,500,000.00
