All work must be carried out respecting the character of the place and must meet specific objectives of authenticity and conservation. Interventions must meet the highest standards of conservation quality, including Parks Canada's Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada. Given the nature of the work envisaged, the College intends to select contractors who achieve the acceptable level of performance. The quality will be demonstrated according to the qualification criteria described in appendix 1 and the Annex 4 RCTC and as provided in the Law on contracting by public bodies. LRQ, c. C-65.1 and applicable regulations The first step consists in selecting contractors by requesting a demonstration of the quality according to the conditions and modalities provided for in Annex 1 and Annex 4 RCTC of this call for tenders. The second step is to invite the selected contractors to submit a bid with only a price. Dawson College, located at 3040 Sherbrooke Ouest, was built between 1904 and 1908 according to plans by architects Marchand & Haskell. It benefits from the patrimonial statutes at the provincial and municipal level. It is a significant building with intrinsic value. . The project consists of restoring the masonry of the main entrance to the building, the rehabilitation of the rose window, the replacement of copper gutters and downspouts, the installation of heating cables and interventions related to the flashing. . The masonry of the facade of the main entrance is mainly composed of buff Ohio sandstone with Montreal limestone in the lower rows of the plinth. The facade has a painted wood rosette formed by an exterior panel with clear glass and interior panels featuring a stained glass window.
