Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Asheville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
Weaver Park is split into two parcels by Reeds Creek. Currently, connection of these two portions of the park is by a wooden pedestrian bridge that is in need of replacement. This project will demolish the existing bridge, remove the pathway leading to it and purchase and install a new bridge and new connector pathways. Attendance to the Pre-Bid meeting is highly encouraged but not mandatory. The City's Asheville Business Inclusion Policy and the City's Drug-Free Workplace Policy will be explained during the virtual pre-bid meeting. The Asheville Business Inclusion Policy requires Minority and Women Business Enterprise outreach on City contracts. Additionally, N.C.G.S. 143-128.2 requires minority and women business outreach for building construction projects requiring the below provided information to be reported to the State of North Carolina Office of Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB).
