The bid bond shall be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in New York State. The bond shall be in the amount of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500.00). A certified check, cashiers check, or a bank issued Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit may be submitted in lieu of a bid bond. Ready-Mix Concrete, Class A and Class H for Structures, shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4000 psi @ 28 days, and follow the design mix guidelines of Class A and Class H Portland Cement Concrete per the New York State Department of Transportation, "Standard Specifications, Construction & Materials" of 5/1/2008 (or as of the most recent revision date). All other materials and construction details for Ready-Mix Concrete, Class A and Class H for Structures, shall conform to the "NYSDOT SSC & M" of 5/1/2008 (or as of the most recent revision date). The concrete batching facility delivery trucks shall be certified (inspected and approved) by NYSDOT. A water-reducing and retarding admixture shall be added to the concrete mix at a minimum rate specified by Steuben County to achieve retardation during placing conditions. Ready-Mix Concrete, Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM), shall conform to the "NYSDOT SSC & M" as of 5/1/2008 (or as of the most recent revision date.)
