The Peel Memorial Phase 2 Redevelopment Project is to be delivered using the Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) delivery model. The Peel Memorial Phase 2 Redevelopment Project will be built on 20 Lynch Street, Brampton Ontario. The facility will be an attached complex to Peel Memorial Centre Phase 1 (PM Phase 1). The current schematic design consists of 3 levels of underground parking, a surface parking lot, a current stacking of twelve (12) floors above ground plus a mechanical penthouse. The Peel Memorial Phase 2 Redevelopment Project functional program consists of 17 components. Five (5) inpatient programs and services, two (2) outpatient services, one (1) emergency department and seven (7) support services will be located in the new PM Phase 2 facility. Two (2) outpatient mental health services will expand in the PM Phase 1 facility to accommodate new services as well as greater consolidation of outpatient mental health and addiction services in the accessible Peel Memorial site to be completed by others. In total, the functional program for the Peel Memorial Phase 2 Redevelopment Project includes 250 inpatient care beds, shelled spaces for 72 post-acute beds beyond the 2027/28 forecast need and nine growth beds (two for the Geriatric Assessment Behavioural Unit (GABU), two for Medically Assisted Withdrawal Management (WMPACD)(Withdrawal Management (medically-assisted) and five for Post-Acute Concurrent Disorders. October 31, 2024: Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and William Osler Health System (Osler) have issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the new Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment project. The project will be delivered through IO's Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) contract model. The new Peel Memorial Hospital will increase health care capacity in the community and address the significant need for more specialized care for patients requiring longer hospital stays before they can safely return home or to community settings. It will also include a purpose-built Emergency Department to ensure additional capacity for a wide range of emergencies and urgent medical conditions for the community. Located in one of the province's fastest growing communities, Brampton's new hospital will support a robust and accessible local health system for years to come. Teams were shortlisted through a Request for Qualification (RFQ) process that began in May 2024 and are now invited to respond to the RFP. Proposals will be evaluated by IO and Osler, and the top-ranked team will work collaboratively with IO and Osler during a Development Phase, expected to start in 2025. Once the Development Phase is completed, Osler may sign a construction contract with the successful team to deliver the project.
