The Peel Memorial Phase 2 Redevelopment Project is to be delivered using the Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) delivery model. Once completed, the expanded Peel Memorial Hospital will include: -Multi-storey patient tower with up to 250 inpatient beds, with the capacity to add more beds in the future. -24/7 emergency department designed to offer a wide range of urgent and emergency medical care. -Expanded post-acute care services, helping to free up additional space for acute care beds at Brampton Civic Hospital. -Enhanced mental health and addictions programs, including medically assisted withdrawal management. -Specialized services for seniors, including dementia care. -Rehabilitation and complex continuing care services. -9 new inpatient dialysis stations and expanded outpatient services. -New and enhanced outpatient clinics, including a fracture clinic. *Contract amount was not released for publication. In October 2025, Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Osler have signed a Development Phase Agreement (DPA) with Bird Design-Build Construction Inc., which is now the development partner selected to advance the project requirements including the design, schedule and pricing. October 25, 2025: The Development Phase is now underway with Bird Design-Build Construction Inc., the Development Partner selected to further develop the project requirements and design, schedule, pricing, and risk parameters for William Osler Health System's (Osler) Peel Memorial Hospital Phase 2 Redevelopment. Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Osler have signed a Development Phase Agreement with Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. after evaluations following an open, fair, and competitive request for proposals (RFP) process that began in October 2024. The Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. team includes: - Applicant lead: Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. - Design team: Cannon Design Ltd. - Construction team: Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. The project is being delivered through IO's Progressive Design-Build (Target Price) delivery model. Once the Development Phase is complete, Osler and the Bird Design-Build Construction Inc. team will have the option to sign a project agreement to proceed with the construction phase, which would include agreements on detailed designs and a target price.
