Renovation of a municipal facility in Salisbury, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The purpose of this project is to reconstruct the rear steps and deck, install one new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant inclined platform lift, and install two transition ramps at the historic Poplar Hill Mansion located in Salisbury, Maryland. Pictures containing the area of interest are attached. A. Removal 1. Remove and demolish existing back stairs and deck leaving existing brick foundation pillars. Pictures of existing conditions can be seen in the pictures attached. B. Construction 1. Build new deck on existing foundation to align with interior floor for ADA accessibility. Constructed from Deckorators Tropics Tidal Gray Grooved Composite Deck Board Model #265271-12. Handrails to be built in the Chippendale style to match existing design. Handrails to be built from pressure treated lumber. 2. Build new stairs with a tread depth of 11" and a maximum rise of 7.5". Constructed from Deckorators Tropics Tidal Gray Grooved Composite Deck Board Model #265271-12. Handrails to be built in the Chippendale style to match existing design. Handrails to be built from pressure treated lumber. C. Painting 1. Handrails to be caulked and nail holes filled. 2. Handrails to be primed with a latex based primer suitable for pressure treated lumber. Lumber must be dry and have previously had adequate gassing time prior to installation to ensure proper primer and paint adhesion. 3. Handrails to be painted with two top coats of exterior latex paint to match existing finish. D. Installation 1. Install exterior, post-mounted commercial grade Savaria Delta Inclined Platform Lift with ADA compliant platform (or equivalent). 2. Install a 1.25" ADA compliant transition ramp on the exterior side of the threshold for ADA accessibility. 3. Install a 1.125"ADA compliant transition ramp on the interior side of the thresholdfor ADA accessibility. E. Electrical Work 1. Install electrical box and run cables from electrical boxes to electrical panel. Location of the electrical panel in relation to the proposed lift location can be found in theattachments. 2. Install new 15 amp fused disconnect into an empty breaker space in the electrical panel. 3. Connect the lift's battery charging station to electrical box. 4. Installation to adhere to electrical requirements per Savaria Delta Planning Guide.
