This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Greenport, New York. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly marked on the outside CONTRACTOR SERVICES -JANUARY 2022. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids or to award the contract to the bidder who, in their judgement, is the lowest responsible bidder. The bid price shall not include any Federal, State or Local Tax from which the Village of Greenport is exempt. The award of this contract shall be for a one (1) year period, upon Board approval. New York State Labor Law 220 mandates that persons working on public works projects be paid no less than the prevailing wage and comply with wage reporting requirements (certified payrolls). The law is designed to ensure that workers receive that which they are legally entitled to. It also creates fair competition for legitimate contractors, prevents sub-standard workmanship and prevents the corruption of the worthy goals of public improvement projects. Failure to pay any worker the prevailing wage for work performed is a crime for which prosecution will result. The contractor will be required to provide the Village with certified payrolls evidencing payment of prevailing wages prior to each payment. The Village of Greenport is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, ancestry, disability or handicap, marital / financial status, military status, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age or national origin with respect to employment or any employment related matter and the Village of Greenport requires that all contractors participating in contracts for public work in the Village of Greenport and all subcontractors of those contractors comply with the same requirement and evidence of that compliance to the Village of Greenport by providing an affidavit to that effect. The Village of Greenport encourages proposals for public contracts, and public contracts with the Village of Greenport and subcontracts of those contracts by minority and women-owned contractors and entities, and the Village of Greenport will solicit proposals and contracts from such entities with respect to the public work noticed herein.
